 Welcome to Celeste Site

I have been devoting my last 12 years, around the clock, to my mother’s care.  And I have been her solo care giver ever since. She is the biggest treasure we hold, at this time. Yes. Our other treasure was our father, but passed away at the age of eighty, eighteen years ago.

Soon I will be posting some very simple, but useful, tips that I would like to share with you. They been very helpful to me, especially in this last years, as my mother became totally dependent.

This tips or information are based on my own experiences  or skills I’ve  acquired with time and situations, while taking care of my own mother, as I had to adapt as needed for her aging process. Her needs require continuous changes and adaptations.

Each case is a case. Different stages of aging or illnesses require a specific care and treatment. Every patient is unique, and so it should be the personalized care of each human being, depending on their own situation and need of health care, respect and dignity.

When dealing with the aging process, what works today, tomorrow may no longer be accepted. It is a constant process of adaptation not only physically but also emotionally, on both, Caregiver and Caretaker - especially if you are taking care of your own parents or someone you realy love.

One must remember that it is providing care to someone who can’t help him/herself. Our head, our heart and our hands must be strong, we want and we are capable.

To some, it may seem like a burden to undertake and endeavor to such a mission. One is never prepared to accept the process of gradual decline which comes with aging-we are faced with the inevitable. And have to confront one of, if not, the biggest fear for human kind — Death.

The Caregiver must not forget that she/he needs more than never some time for her/himself especially when taking care of someone terminal ill or with a chronic illness

because it can be very emotional/physical straining.

The Caregiver must keep in touch with him/herself. And take some time to things she enjoys doing, only by taking care of herself/himself, only then, can she/he take good care of whom she/he is caring for. In my case I am lucky that I always enjoyed writing and painting so for me it is a double pleasure.

This "oil on canvas" is some of my hobbies, while taking care of my elderly mother. She also enjoyed watching me painting or seeing the final painting, specially this one of Princess Diana.

On this site you can find some of the projects I have worked on, but not yet available via Internet as they wait, for soon, to be released.

I feel I have the two best things I enjoy most. Be with my mother, and, while I take care of her, I still have the time here and there to do writing and painting, along with the most important thing - be there for my son - be his mother and his friend.

I have the privilege to pass on to him, some family values, that many, no longer have the chance to get in touch with, because of the fast passed life that everyone seems to live in, and, tend to forget, the most important thing that our children need – Love, Attention and Guidance.
